Health Educator- New River Valley

Education: Bachelor's Degree in health education, public health, health communication, health promotion, or another health-related field is required. Master's Degree in Public Health preferred.

Experience: Three years professional experience in health education preferred.

Licensure/certification: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) designation or eligible to sit for the CHES exam within the first three years of employment preferred. Virginia Driver's license required. CPR & First Aid Certification required within 6 months of hire into the position.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to implement programs that reach community members of all ages, with diverse backgrounds, and with low socioeconomic status. Well-organized, proficient at multi-tasking and working with minimal supervision. Must possess excellent organizational skills and proficiency in written and verbal communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Job often requires working outside Carilion Clinic facilities and travel to sites within the Clinic's service area. Must provide own transportation.
