The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Clerk - CAT3, Public Works Building Environmental Monitoring to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i. This is a part time position working 0-20 hours per week.

Under limited supervision, monitors building environmental, fire, and intrusion alarms, and performs a variety of multi-level clerical tasks and data entry associated with the work assigned in a department that is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but not be limited to the following depending on assignment:

  • Provides continuous monitoring of building environmental alarms, fire alarm supervisory and trouble alarms, and building intrusion detection trouble alarms. Logs and contacts the appropriate supervisor to service the alarm issue.
  • Maintain daily communication logs, alarm logs and shift journal.
  • Answers Work Control phone calls during after-hours work shifts.
  • Inputs daily work order data generated by PMRF Maximo into the NAVFAC Maximo system.
  • Updates Infrastructure Condition Assessment Program (ICAP) data in NAVFAC Maximo, collected by Public Works Facilities Engineering.
  • Updates asset inventory and data elements in NAVFAC Maximo.
  • May be required to lock/unlock Public Works compound during non-normal working hours shifts.
  • Maintains a neat and professional work area.
  • Performs administrative tasks for assigned area to include typing, filing, answering of incoming phone calls and assisting the section in completing tasks.
  • Backfill clerical positions in other departments as needed.
  • Prepare reports to support office and annex requirements.
  • Maintains office supply inventory.
  • Performs other related clerical duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over between 10-25 pounds. Physical positions will include but not be limited to sitting for extended periods of time. The environment will include customer contact.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High School or equivalent

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years of general office experience is required.
  • Maximo database and work order generation experience desired.
  • Must be proficient in operating a calculator, personal computers and standard office equipment.
  • Must have strong people and communication skills.
  • Must be able to type 40-50 words per minute and perform multi-tasking (more than one task at a time) during peak periods.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
