Department Summary The TRIO Programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas were designed to support the academic development of students within target schools. They are federally funded grants that serve low-income, first-generation students. Position Overview The Upward Bound Program Coordinator (UB) is responsible for supporting the UB program requiring a general working knowledge of TRIO programs specifically Upward Bound. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks which may include assisting with data collection, data input, program monitoring, program assessment, student support, community outreach, assisting in developing and conducting programs, reporting, and program marketing. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse environment. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Strong problem solving skills. Ability to use a variety of complex computer applications. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work independently and lead project teams effectively. Considerable knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or education fields; Minimum 2 years' experience working in TRIO federal programs, or similar program/project.
