As a Principal Scientist Operations, you will supervise the first shift Central Weigh sub-team within the Manufacturing Support area. Manages the schedule and work assignments of the staff (5-10 employees).

The Opportunity

Staff Management and Development:

  • Provides coaching, training, and development opportunities.

  • Offers ongoing, constructive and timely feedback on performance and progress.

Raw Material Dispensing and Inventory Management:

  • Ensures accuracy, quality, and timeliness of activities.

  • Manages inventory of raw materials.

Project and Work Responsibility:

  • Ensures timely completion of projects, aligning activities with project critical path, and adapting to changing priorities.

  • Coordinates dispensing activities across shifts to meet production schedules.

Communication and Representation:

  • Conveys critical information to management and provides consistent feedback to teams.

  • May represent the department as the primary contact on projects.

Procedural and Documentation Duties:

  • Prepares production documents, writes/revises SOPs, and monitors lab supply inventory.

  • Manages documentation in accordance with procedures and handles hazardous materials if necessary.

Cross-Department Collaboration and Troubleshooting:

  • Serves as a resource to various departments, offering timely responses and follow-ups.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues creatively, exploring new solutions and methodologies.

People and Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Handles HR tasks such as hiring, performance feedback.

  • Manages attendance and employee grievances, ensuring alignment with project priorities.

Who You Are
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. Master's Degree preferred.

  • You have 6 years relevant industry experience. 7 + years of relevant industry experience preferred.

Yes. Equivalent combination of education and work experience.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Branchburg, NJ is $87,500.00 -162,500.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below. Benefits
