Engineering Technician II - Chemistry

The Purilogics Engineering team based in Bloomington, MN is looking for an Engineering Technician II to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the development, evaluation, and validation of exciting, differentiated technologies to position us as a market leader in Membrane Chromatography.

This role is based on site at our Bloomington, MN HQ in both a lab and plant setting and will require being on site Monday - Friday.

Role Responsibilities:

• Follow established procedures to modify membranes with wet chemistry techniques

• Preparation of chemical solutions and buffers

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment including chemical safety

• Conduct programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of chemical intermediates

• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses

• Evaluate material properties with techniques such as chromatography and spectroscopy

• Support product development activities with product verification experiments and activities

• Understanding and following the instructions and specifications of engineers, scientists, chemists, and other researchers

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and work demands

• Document test results per lab standards (ISO 17025)

• Create new test procedures as necessary

• Keeping the laboratory neat and clean and sterilizing all work surfaces and equipment

• Willing to learn and understand the background of project / task

• Work in both team environments and independently

• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry or related field (will consider High School Diploma, GED, or Associates with equivalent/relevant years of experience)

• 2+ years of prior experience in a laboratory setting (education or professional)

• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• Knowledge of lab environment, safety practices, and cleanliness

• Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with chemical synthesis

• Experience in chromatography and filter testing

• Experience in technical report writing

• Knowledge of test and analytical equipment

• Good interpersonal and communications skills

Annual Salary Range: $24.09 - $30.09.Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
