Job Title: R&D Scientist

Position Summary/Objective:

This is a technical laboratory position with the function to assist in providing analytical support for application labs, customer service, and product development teams. The work is performed under the direction of the analytical and material science Technical Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Knowledgeable in the use of analytical techniques (Chromatography/Spectroscopic/Microscopy) for application to sustainability issues, materials characterization, and formulated products
Strong background in organic and physical chemistry to apply to problem-solving
Responsible for proof of principle projects to demonstrate the feasibility of new concepts
Use of various techniques for analyzing prints defects and finished products related to customer issues
Administer the appropriate project management systems to maintain reporting and status updates
Document all experimental work in a lab notebook using established best practices. Writes reports to communicate findings.
Rigorously follows EH&S, laboratory procedures and looks for safety improvements

Required Experience & Education:

Ph.D. degree in chemistry or biochemistry
2+ years of experience working in an analytical lab and with a background in materials characterization.
Good writing and presentation skills
Good analytical and math skills
Good organizational and administrative skills

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 75 hour bi-weekly work schedule

Travel Requirements: 0-5%

Salary Range:$99,800K - 127,000K
