Summary of Position Functions
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the field operations to effectively execute energy construction projects.
Essential Position Functions
- Oversees and assists in development of procedures to increase effectiveness on overall division and estimated job profits.
- Manages assigned subcontractors.
- Ensures customer satisfaction, quality, and proactive improvement.
- Enhances internal communication of entire division and organization including other departments within Veregy.
- Participates in weekly meetings to inform management of issues and progress.
- Works with human resources and safety as needed on personnel and training issues.
- Works with marketing and estimators to assure the teams uniformity of project delivery throughout the organization.
- Coordinates with purchasing to maintain material levels and ensures orders are placed when necessary.
- Reviews projects, controls job cost and ensures job profitability.
- Ensures subcontractors are reviewing submittals for accuracy of installations.
- Provides continued development of customer relationships.
- Maintains a clean and orderly working environment.
- Maintains and ensures safety as top priority for everyone involved in projects.
- Ensures all company policies are enforced, followed, and any discrepancies reported.
- Provides timely input and maintains long term labor forecasts.
- Ensures all internal procedures and policies are being utilized and followed.

Education and Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five + years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of at least three (3) years of related experience at supervisory level or above required.
- Management of trade related construction required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of Veregy's services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
- Ability to work 80% of the time on a day shift schedule and possibly 20% of the time on a second shift schedule as needed.
- Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.).
- Ability to maintain a proactive approach in problem solving and issue management.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
- Ability to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers; to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, pound, or metric counterparts.
- Ability to type.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
- Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
