Summary
The Associate Director of Creative Services at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis is in charge of maintaining our brand's identity. From UHSP-owned channels to marketing through digital and traditional media, the Associate Director of Creative Services ensures consistent, attentive and accurate communications.

Their duties include leading a team of creative professionals, contributing to the development of printed and digital projects, capturing photo and video assets, and maintaining the integrity of the UHSP brand.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Providing direction and supervising all work completed by creative team members (graphic design, photography, video and media production)
  • Maintaining brand oversight and advocating for brand integrity by reviewing materials, educating University stakeholders, and making recommendations for how brand elements should be used
  • Providing graphic design support for a variety of print and digital projects
  • Editing photos and videos that accurately depict the University, its stakeholders and the experience it provides
  • Overseeing creative project timelines and budgets, communicating and coordinating with vendors as needed
  • Preparing high-quality files for production and distribution across a variety of channels, reviewing and approving proofs as needed
  • Coordinating and conducting photoshoots/video shoots that may follow a storyboard, script, shot list, screenplay or outline
  • Maintaining the University's library of photo and video assets
  • Working closely with the Associate Director of Content Strategy to ensure content and visual execution work together to deliver strategic, appealing and effective communications


Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design, writing, photography, marketing, communications or related field

  • 7+ years of experience leading creative projects and implementing strategies in graphic design, photography or copywriting

  • An intimate understanding of design, copy and web best practices/guidelines

  • Experience in management of creative professionals, experience hiring and goal development preferred

  • Preferred knowledge of photography and video production, including experience in conducting and overseeing photo and video shoots.

  • Extensive experience work in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom)

  • Regular experience working with Microsoft Office applications (e.g Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

  • Strategic and tactical thinking, data-driven decision making, and short and long-term planning skills are required

  • Ability to work in partnership with other marketing associate directors and in close collaboration with various campus teams

  • The ability to perform work with various computer applications

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, work under deadline pressure and maintain attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service skills, collegiality and the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people on a variety of channels, and to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Must be very articulate, have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, and able to explain subjective concepts effectively

  • A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change

  • Sensitivity to issues related to recruitment and retention of a diverse student body are required
