Job Description

In collaboration with business stakeholders, designs and develops custom Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards, metrics and reports. Provides expertise on data analysis, identification of data sources, and modification of data architecture as necessary. Plans, conducts, and guides the analysis of business intelligence initiatives

Job Responsibility




  • Guides the design, development and analysis to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies.
  • Consults with decision makers to identify data sources, required data elements, or data validation standards.
  • Ensures collaboration with development teams to design business intelligence solutions to facilitate data gathering, storage, and retrieval.
  • Ensures collaboration with end users in the design and development of custom dashboards, metrics, and reports.
  • Guides the analysis and evaluation of end users reporting needs and translates business requirements into detailed technical design and programming specifications.
  • Conducts data analysis in support of resolution of production issues.
  • Coordinates with other IT groups and departments in the resolution of problem calls.
  • Documents all report related activities including user requests, report specification, development, modification, testing and on-going production support.
  • Creates dashboard and reporting solutions to meet user needs and requirements.
  • Ensures development of entire dashboard life cycle including coding, unit testing, bug fixes and report design.
  • Employees operate under limited guidance and work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors.   • Provide consultation on complex projects including tools functionality, visualization and data considerations.
  • Collaborate with users to understand their analytic objectives and requirements to develop requirements and plans for the implementation of reporting and analytic solutions.


Job Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.



Highly Preferred:


  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.


  • Experience in liaising between business-facing roles and technical teams - translating complex business needs and technical concepts to business-friendly terms.


  • Proven record of designing and building reporting/visualization and data products that enable data driven decision making and drive strategic insights.


  • Proficiency in analytics, data profiling, data wrangling, data modeling, data visualization and documentation skills.


  • Expertise in SQL (Microsoft SQL, BigQuery, etc.), relational and non-relational databases, data visualization, dashboarding and business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Epic Cogito, Tableau or Looker).


  • Deep understanding of analytics, data quality, data engineering, and database principles and best practices for building scalable and reliable solutions.


  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and mentor junior members to deliver high quality results.


  • Accustomed to working with multiple projects with strict deadlines.


  • Healthcare Industry experience and Cloud Computing experience (GCP) preferred.
  • Experience Preparing support documents, presents project deliverables, identifies, and communicates project needs and issues to appropriate leadership, coordinates initiatives, follows up on outstanding issues, partners with leadership and other departments, as necessary.
  • Lead the development and implementation of various data analytics projects from inception to operations - from requirements gathering, development to operationalization of scalable data products.



  • Drive data democratization and literacy/proficiency efforts by enabling self-service capabilities, semantic layers, and training initiatives.


  • Plan, design, develop, and operationalize various data solutions - data marts, data lakes, dashboards, visualizations, reports, etc.


  • Partner with technical team to define architecture and data modeling for efficiency and scalability.


  • Create documentation and training materials for stakeholders, internal and external teams for data solutions/implementations.


  • Keep abreast with technology, trends, and business intelligence tools to find opportunities to incorporate innovative solutions.


  • Mentor juniors on best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning, agile development and data driven operations/decision making.
