Position: Project Manager
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Reports to: Branch Manager
The Project Manager will work in office 50% and travel 50% to customer production facilities to gather information and details to help sales team quote overhead crane installation projects, and then if awarded manage the project to a successful completion. This will include installing and modifying electric overhead bridge cranes, hoists, and their control means and related material handling equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Crane Technician and/or Industrial Project Management experience required.
  • Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn mechanical and industrial skills.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel and work in production environments, with some overnight travel expected.
  • Ability to operate company phone and computer.
  • Ability to complete electronic forms in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work extended hours, and on holidays, as required.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage project operations in accordance with the current and upcoming new crane installation projects.
  • Provide timely job estimates and quotes for materials, technical support, and other items as requested by customer and sales team.
  • Provide project management support and supervision for major projects. This will include outage pre-planning, job walks, scheduling, material setup, timeline progress updates, and customer coordination.
  • Assist Branch Manager with planning and scheduling PM and service work as needed.
  • Participate in all customer meetings that relate to the company or are associated with the equipment and processes the company is responsible for.
  • Resolve customer complaints within established guidelines, to the satisfaction of the customer and the best interest of the company. Unresolved issues should be quickly elevated to the Branch Manager.
  • Provide managerial support to the project technicians and 3rd party contractors, including recognition of performance above expectations and addressing performance issues.
  • Daily project review of shift turnovers reports to identify work completion and/or completion issues that need to be addressed.
  • Provide daily updates to Branch Manager on the status of projects stating what is ready to be invoiced to the customer.
  • Ensure all established safety rules and procedures are followed, including those established by the customer.
  • Conduct documented safety meetings with all project personnel.
  • Monitor and maintain company equipment associated with project operations.
  • Conduct spot visits and audits of technicians' equipment and vehicles, progress of project, get customer feedback, and document results.
  • Provide updates on the projects/issues/upcoming projects/etc every week to Branch Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and organize a variety of job scopes
  • Ability to stand/walk 75% of the workday.
  • Lift /Carry up to 40-50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to push/pull material with equipment assistance.
  • Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).
  • Possess depth perception and peripheral vision.
  • Possess the ability to hear.


WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Subject to working at considerable heights.
  • Occasional exposure to hot and cold conditions.
