POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Pediatric Hospitalist to join our growing Pediatric Hospitalist team. Our current team consists of experienced physicians and advanced practice providers who value collaboration and mentorship. The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ Situated less than 15 miles from Manhattan, Paramus is in the heart of Bergen County, one of the most desirable counties in the United States, with excellent schools, numerous recreational and cultural activities. Its proximity to New York City allows for easy access to everything the city has to offer or live in New York City and enjoy a simple reverse commute. With the opening of our new $975 million, 370 bed acute care hospital on April 14, 2024, The Valley Health System continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing exceptional, world class care to the 1.1 million residents of our catchment area. Position Description: ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT Valley Medical Group | Valley-Mount Sinai Children's Service www.valleyhealth.com/services/childrens-health We are looking to add an additional physician who will participate in the treatment and management of our busy in-patient newborn and pediatric service. The current clinical responsibilities his inpatient team oversees are the newborn nursery, attendance at routine deliveries, pediatric inpatient service (floor), admissions from the Pediatric Emergency Department. Additionally, as a member of this team, you will work collaboratively with the pediatric intensivists, neonatologists and pediatric emergency medicine attendings. Our physicians are supported by: 3 Full time Pediatric Intensivists 5 Full time Neonatologists 2 Full time Nurse Practitioners The division is seeking a well-qualified pediatric hospitalist to complement the group and meet the community's need for additional pediatric hospital coverage. We actively collaborate with our colleagues within Valley Medical Group multispecialty pediatric practice and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital in the care of children with complex conditions. Valley Medical Group has a relationship with Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine which allows for an opportunity to be involved in academics or research. This is not guaranteed as the incoming provider will have to meet Mount Sinai's criteria for academic appointment and approval by their academic promotions committee. POSITION DETAILS Full Time, 12-hour shifts. EDUCATION: An MD or equivalent degree Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency in Pediatrics, Board certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics At least 1 year of postgraduate work experience recommended.
