Why Choose Us?
Novolex is a leader in packaging innovation, choice and sustainability. We manufacture products in paper, plastic and sustainable materials for the food, retail, health and industrial markets. This is a hybrid position.
Our Sustainability Commitment
The Novolex sustainability vision is built upon three pillars: our products, our operations and our people. Each is critically important to our growth and future as a business. These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.
How You'll Perform the Role
The Shields & Spec Lam (S/SL) business units, with annual revenues of approximately $300 million, are market leaders in plastic and foil packaging products, with commercial and manufacturing operations in the U.S. and Canada. The FP&A Manager plays a crucial role in financial reporting analysis, and strategic support for the broader manufacturing team.
- Serve as the primary financial support for the S/SL manufacturing organization, with extensive visibility and interaction with senior levels of the Novolex Finance and Operational leadership teams.
- Analyze and understand operational trends to assist Plant Managers and Operational Teams in understanding performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Go beyond reporting to analyze and interpret operational analytics, making actionable recommendations to management.
- Develop and implement operational data sets, analytical reports, and tools to consolidate, report, and analyze operational performance, enabling Ops Leadership to easily understand performance and trends and facilitate recommendations for improvement.
- Lead the analysis of weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance results and prepare business reporting for business unit and executive management teams. (Experience in building "bridges/walks" is essential.)
- Conduct in-depth monthly analyses of operational performance across plants, departments, and product lines, with familiarity in material usage, absorption, and "cash spend" drivers.
- Create and maintain a high-quality operational business analysis function. Novolex Finance is a key member of the S/SL business team, not a back-office function.
- Quickly develop an understanding of S/SL financial performance and strategic imperatives, especially as they relate to operational performance, and gain a broad understanding of the business' market segment, including products, customers, and competitive environment.
- Improve financial analysis and planning processes for operational information related to products, plants, and departments, including productivity and efficiency.
- Assist in creating detailed profitability analyses to enable product and customer profitability reporting.
- Assume key responsibilities and drive improvements in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process, coordinating activities between Sales, Supply Chain, and Planning.
