Job Description: The Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI will create patterns of automation for CI/CD, infrastructure deployment, maintenance, monitoring, security, and compliance using industry and enterprise best practices. Enable developer productivity in support of business objectives. Assist development teams to apply automation patterns. Continuously improve patterns and workflow by collecting and responding to feedback and key metrics. Partner with other enterprise teams on emerging best practices, patterns, and technology. Utilize AWS, Docker, SQL, and Jenkins. Create slack-bots and deploy using Kubernetes. Install and configure the Gitlab runners in local using the own tagging options for running pipelines. Make strategic decisions that align with business goals and customer needs. Coach and mentor peers and engineering teams within technology teams. Utilize programming languages including Python, Java, Javascript, GO, or Groovy. Work with Infrastructure Automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef. Utilize multiple delivery methodologies including Agile and Waterfall. Telecommuting permitted. Salary $94,307- $156,650 per year. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Database Integration Technology, or related field plus 3 years of experience as a software engineer or related occupation. Experience must include 3 years with each of the following: (1) AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Python, SQL, and Jenkins; (2) Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodology; (3) Gitlab; (4) Java, Javascript, GO, or Groovy; (5) Infrastructure Automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef; and (6) delivery methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
