Summary of Position: |
To coordinate and provide oversight in the University's comprehensive NCAA compliance program. The position will oversee monitoring documentation of all compliance activities as required by NCAA, GLIAC, CCHA and Ferris State University for institutional control measures. The position shall be responsible for record keeping, rules interpretations, rules education and will serve as the primary interface with FSU's Associate Registrar on all NCAA eligibility concerns and its Athletic Financial Aid Officer. The Coordinator of Compliance and Student Success will oversee all areas of academic success including overseeing study tables, working with academic advisors on registration and advising the Student Athlete Advisory Council. |

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: |
- Work with Case Management Working group on implementation of EAB Navigate to track athlete's academic progress. - Assist all sports in the approval of official visits and prepare National Letters of Intents and scholarships. - Assist athletics financial aid officer with tracking scholarships. - Collect, review and file all required compliance documentation for all student-athletes, coaches and staff members. - Conduct annual student-athlete compliance meetings with the team. - Conduct initial and continuing educational sessions regarding NCAA, conference and institutional rules and guidelines for student-athletes, coaches and staff. - Conduct ongoing roster/squad size management via CA and JumpForward or any other compliance software. - Coordinate and track student-athlete advanced registration process. - Coordinate and conduct rules education sessions for athletic staff members and outside booster groups that stress the importance of rules compliance and institutional control. - Finalize eligibility of all sports prior to its first competition by working directly with registrar's office ensuring proper eligibility requirements are in place and submission of eligibility checklists to proper league office. - Monitor CARA logs and processes. - Document and collect data related to student-athlete academic success specifically around achievement gap of minority student athletes. - Support Academic Advisors for at risk student-athletes in finding services available both on and off campus to help student-athletes be more successful in the classroom. - Support , promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives. - Assist in tracking NCAA Sexual Violence Attestation requirements. - Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. - Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. |

Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: |
- Attend university DSAA meetings as necessary - Attend Compliance Committee meetings - Provide information to student-athletes who may need to seek help for mental or medical care. - Assist student-athletes in completion of NCAA scholarship applications - Provide back up assistance to other staff - Reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information. Required to perform all duties in compliance with University, NCAA policies and procedures as well as state and federal requirements. |
