Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research. Department Intro A Research Associate I is available in the lab of Dr. Lindsey Trevino in the Division of Health Equities in the Department of Population Sciences. Dr. Trevino's research is focused on understanding the molecular basis by which exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals disrupts the epigenetic machinery to promote the development of metabolic diseases with known disparitiessuch as cancer, obesity and diabetes. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying epigenetic reprogramming may provide potential prevention strategies (for outreach and policy changes) and/or therapeutic targets for precision medicine approaches in high-risk populations. This role will be supporting a current RO1 grant. You must be comfortable working with animals. As a successful candidate you will: * Maintain and perform experiments with cells in tissue culture. * Perform preclinical rodent work (rat/mouse handling, breeding, treatments, and analysis). * Prepare laboratory reagents and chemicals, as well as maintain instruments and equipment. * Keep detailed logs of lab inventory and animal colonies. Qualifications Your qualifications should include: * Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience * Experience with animal husbandry techniques is highly desired * Hands-on experience with cell/molecular biology techniques and cell culture is preferred City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.
