Senior Development Manager

The Jewish Museum seeks an experienced and dynamic development professional, who, with the guidance and supervision of the Deputy Chief Development Officer, will (1) plan, implement, and manage fundraising systems and processes to support Major Gifts and other critical areas, (2) manage a personal portfolio of grants and donors and provide team-wide support in this area, including centralizing and managing grants-related materials and data, and (3) serve as the Deputy Chief Development Officer's lead administrator with responsibilities ranging from daily office management to complex project management and operationalizing medium and long-term strategic plans.

  • Plan, implement, and manage fundraising systems and processes to support Major Gifts and other critical areas
  • Direct and support revisions to existing systems and practices with the goal of streamlining, eliminating operational inefficiencies, and ensuring long-term data health and consistent data practices across the team

  • Manage a portfolio of grants and donors in a variety of Museum areas, including general operating support and programmatic funding; oversee grant reporting and tracking for that portfolio, including preparing interim and final reports, reconciling budgets, managing the stewardship process, and working with departments throughout the Museum to ensure successful execution of related contractual requirements
  • Provide grants management support across the team, especially as it concerns efficiently collecting, centralizing, interpreting, and managing grants-related materials and data

  • Manage of variety of daily office tasks and projects in support of the the Deputy Chief Development Officer, including, but not limited to, preparing financial snap-shots and data-visualization for high-level meetings, organizing and managing meetings, managing correspondence, and other tasks as assigned
  • Represent the Museum and interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders; readily top-line workflows and progress reports to provide the Deputy Chief Development Officer with informed advice at the strategy level
  • Participate in development-related special events, entailing some evening and weekend hours
  
  
  
  
• Other duties as assigned

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in a high-profile and fast-paced fundraising environment
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills, reflecting clear, critical, and creative thinking
• Strong background in fundraising administration, including development office management
• Experience with project management from ideation to evaluation, including experience working on budgets and providing tracking/oversight for project deliverables
• Immaculately organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to efficiently, creatively, and effectively operationalize broad directives while working in both highly independent and highly collaborative workflows
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects under pressure of deadlines
• B.A./B.S. degree, preferably in business, the arts & humanities, or a related area of study
• Proficiency in MSOffice and GSuite programs, especially MS Excel
• Expert-user in a constituent relationship management software, ideally Salesforce or related program

Salary Range for Position: $80,000 - 85,000
