POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing and providing directive to projects and assignments of the organization and to ensure that the quality of work meets objectives and provides value to the organization. Provides leadership in the growth of the vision, goal, and mission of the Dallas College.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Normal physical job functions performed within a standard office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with physical challenges to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field plus six (6) years of work-related experience.

  • Official transcripts required.

  • Must have valid driver's license.

  • Bilingual preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge in navigating and troubleshooting ERP system's financial module.

  • Oversees the development and administration of the budget for the schools and/or administrative workgroups within Dallas College.

  • Identify pertinent financial and budget issues.

  • Manage the budget development process.

  • Actively participate in the preparation of the annual budget book for board approval.

  • Maintains general knowledge and awareness of current market conditions and how it impacts the college finance operations and priorities.

  • Help in overseeing the preparation of State budget requests.

  • Help in developing and maintaining long-range budgetary financial models (e.g., multi-year budget planning) and ensure that budget policies and procedures are administered with consistency throughout the schools and administrative workgroups of Dallas College while meeting fiscal goals and objectives.

  • Monitors performance of the schools and/or administrative workgroups budget accounts to ensure desirable levels; review and recommend action on exceptions to budget to include budget transfers and special item requests.

  • Develop strategies and make recommendation for budget model methodology that supports the priorities of each school and/or administrative workgroup of Dallas College while advancing the College as a whole.

  • Ensure continuing consistency with Dallas College fiscal goals and objectives as outlined in the Strategic Priorities.

  • Provide advice and counsel on budget matters.

  • Complete required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
