About The Job We are seeking a civil/environmental engineer with zero to two years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure engineering. Ideal candidate will contribute to and gain experience from Dudek's qualified team to deliver quality work with adherence to project budgets and schedules, build relationships, and engage in professional growth opportunities. Technical writing proficiency required. Engineering professionals at Dudek work on innovative and relevant projects, frequently in a cross-discipline environment. General focus of the position is planning, analysis, design, and engineering support during construction of water-related facilities, including storage, conveyance, pumping, and treatment. Water-related facilities include all aspects of potable water, recycled water, and wastewater. Learn more about the projects you will have the opportunity to shape. Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): Technical tasks include, but are not limited to: Research, data collection, organization, technical analysis, preparation of results, evaluation of data, and interpretation. Research also includes contacting and speaking with equipment vendors/suppliers, construction contractors, and field specialists as needed to obtain high quality information. Willingness and ability to learn and utilize various computer-based tools, including primarily AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling software such as InfoSewer/InfoWater. Prepare well written and organized technical reports, consisting of background, approach, data collection, analysis, conclusions and recommendations, including the creation of supporting and informative graphics and tables. Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including necessary research to obtain high quality information. Develop solid understanding of project goals and objectives and use this understanding to prepare engineering improvement plans and technical specifications under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Civil Engineer. Willingness and commitment to support any and all tasks necessary as assigned to provide high quality service and deliverables to our clients. Minimum Requirements BS in Civil or environmental engineering. Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment. * As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check. Preferred Qualifications Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Technical understanding of hydraulics, including primarily pressure flow, open channel flow, and pump curves/pump selection. Experience with modeling and design software including: ArcGIS and AutoCAD. Physical Requirements Working Conditions: This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting. This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc. Speaking, hearing and listening are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Proposed Salary Range: $32.00-$36.00 hourly *Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
