The Director of Community and Summer Programs ( CSP) provides leadership and oversight for all facets of UNCSA's community programs and Summer Intensives. The position works closely and cooperatively with campus leaders and program directors and leaders to offer high-quality non-credit programming to community and summer students.
Work Schedule and hours
9:00 am - 6:00 pm; nights and weekends as needed
Description of Responsibilities and Duties
CSP Office (30%)

  • Oversee budgets for CSP Office and Community and Summer programs
  • Supervise direct reports
  • Ensure alignment of CSP efforts with the mission of UNCSA and the art schools through regular collaboration
  • Explore partnerships and outreach projects to expand the reach of UNCSA into the community
  • Maintain and expand programs through strategic management
  • Ensure compliance with all university policies and procedures


Community Programs (40%)

  • Offer centralized support for all programs:

    • Partner in planning for artistic direction and curriculum design, in consultation with deans and program directors
    • Support budget and purchasing actions for each program
    • Maintain currency of web pages - dates, fees, and other pertinent program details
    • Serve as first point of customer service, including billing, providing information, and conflict resolution


  • Conduct regular meetings with program directors to identify challenges and opportunities for growth
  • Present plans to Executive Team for approval of annual fee structure

Summer Intensives (30%)

  • Design and monitor program budgets, complete budget requests, and execute revenue transfers
  • Oversee mechanisms for registration, fee collection including registration software and online forms
  • Maintain currency of web pages - dates, fees, and other pertinent program details
  • Design and implement marketing
  • Oversee hiring of instructors and guest artists
  • Coordinate campus support units and student check-in process
  • Serve as first point for day-to-day contact with prospective and enrolled students/parents

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree and five (5) years of appropriate demonstrated professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; Enrollment management, student recruitment, and program marketing skills; Experience with non-credit, educational outreach, and summer programs
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability and enthusiasm for working effectively and collaboratively with the executive team, deans, program faculty, and community members through the processes of designing, implementing, and engaging in community and summer programs.
  • Experience with budgeting, fiscal management, and strategic resource allocation.
  • Professional integrity, outstanding leadership qualities, and exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate the role, mission, and value of Community and Summer Programs to campus and external constituents.
