Summary of Job Duties:The Project Manager- Enterprise Applications is responsible for the scoping, management, and delivery of assigned projects with cross-functional dependencies and impact. This includes managing the entire project management plan and coordinating with teams, campus departments, vendor partners, and key stakeholders to implement, integrate, and upgrade enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and associated enterprise applications. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage varied initiatives for scope and be agile enough to serve multiple functions (business analysis, project management, communications, testing, etc.) on the team when needed to ensure success. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field;

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management capacity spanning the full lifecycle from proposal development to post-implementation closeout.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field;

  • At least four (4) years of experience in a project management capacity spanning the full lifecycle from proposal development to post-implementation closeout;

  • Experience with scoping, planning, and successfully implementing, integrating, and upgrading 3rd party applications preferred;

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred;

  • Experience with Agile Methodologies is considered a plus

  • Experience working with Banner Student and Workday is considered a plus;

  • Experience with Monday.com or similar Work OS for managing projects is considered a plus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with a variety of University stakeholders, IT teams (Assistance Center, Networks, Systems, Enterprise Applications, Business Engagement, Administrative IT, etc.), and campus departments to define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables that support business goals and key initiatives;

  • Coordinate with IT Leadership to contribute to effective project intake, governance, and portfolio management. This includes advising and assisting various campus departments in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and enterprise application evaluations, purchases, installations, integrations, and upgrades;

  • Act as project lead and responsible for the management, oversight, and completion of assigned enterprise application or business engagement projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within quality and budget criteria. This includes partnering with cross-functional leadership to identify and scope IT needs, projects, and ongoing deliverables, ensuring appropriate resources and constraints are effectively managed and communicated;

  • Plan, establish, and effectively communicate project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. This includes utilizing appropriate tools to plan, illustrate, track, and manage timelines, milestones, and dependencies;

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risk and issues, and devise mitigation and contingency plans;

  • Promote team utilization of appropriate quality assurance, change enablement, documentation, and source code repository requirements;

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations;

  • Follow project management best practices throughout the project lifecycle and conduct project post mortems (i.e. lessons learned) to identify successful elements and opportunities to improve;

  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members while influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work. This includes identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team;

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work closely with senior IT and campus leadership to ensure delivery expectations are defined, managed, and met;

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, vendors, and other departments;

  • Advanced knowledge of software operations and implementation of Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) and product line software management for large organizations;

  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions covering all campus functions or similar solutions;

  • Ability to build high-performing teams and oversee the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions;

  • Strong familiarity with project management software and/or web-based Project Portfolio Management (PPM) collaboration tools;

  • Knowledge of Portfolio Management;

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct business impact and cost/benefit analysis and recommend the appropriate course of action for assigned projects;

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to execute both traditional and agile projects;

  • A team player and consensus builder, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget;

  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language;

  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products;

  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
