About The Job We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with a background in electrical engineering and power distribution system design, focusing on water and wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in this field and must acquire an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification within 6 months of starting. Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of US codes and standards are essential. This role is hybrid and based in our Arizona office. Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): * Design electrical power distribution systems for water and wastewater facilities, ensuring compliance with NEC and other codes under supervision. * Develop utility service sections, switchboards, motor control centers, and lighting systems. * Create single-line diagrams, power plans, control schematics, and conduit block diagrams. * Design instrumentation & control systems including P&IDs, motor controls, PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication networks. * Perform engineering calculations such as load summaries, breaker sizing, short circuit current, conduit sizing and conductor sizing. * Define hazardous locations and document on hazardous location plan drawings. * Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and prepare engineer's clarifications. * Conduct field inspections and witness equipment start-up and commissioning. * Edit electrical and controls specifications * Create electrical, instrumentation, and control system drawings in AutoCAD. * Work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with team members and clients. Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. * 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically for water and wastewater facilities. * Proficiency in AutoCAD. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage work on multiple projects and meet deadlines. * Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. * Engineer in Training (EIT certification) within 6 months of starting. * Must possess a valid driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance. * The ability to understand electrical and controls drawings and specifications. * Knowledgeable in the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). * As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check. Preferred Qualifications * Working toward obtaining Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license. * Knowledgeable in NFPA 820. * Experience in E&I construction observation and inspection. * Experience in communication and coordination with other engineering disciplines. Physical Requirements Working Conditions:
Proposed Salary Range: $90,000-$107,000 *Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
