Human Rights Center Communications Consultant

The Human Rights Center at the Law School is looking for a communications professional to help shape and implement its communication strategy in furtherance of a new strategic plan. This role would be a casual position at the University of Minnesota and is envisioned as a 10-14 hour/week commitment. The pay for this position is $25.00-$45.00 per hour.

The main responsibilities for this part-time role would be:

• Advise and implement strategy to publicize new HRC strategic framework - 25%
• Create templates and best practices for email newsletter and social media - 25%
• Help prepare content for newsletter and social media - 25%
• Advise and implement updates to website language and visuals in keeping with HRC strategic aims - 25%

Required Qualifications

• Experience in creating communications strategies, plans, or programs.
• Attention to detail; clear, concise writing
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively propose work in service of HRC strategic aims
• Strong communication and time management skills to work with HRC teams on priorities and progress within the 10-14 hour allotted time commitment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with HRC audiences - communities connected to higher education, law, national and international human rights

Pay Range: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
