Description of Position
The Floor Lead provides day to day operational support of the course materials, books, general merchandise, and graduation areas to support our retail efforts to serve customers, resolve and troubleshoot issues. This includes transacting ecommerce orders, assisting customers with product selection, and inventory management. The Floor lead role encompasses work as a cross functional team member within the Bookstore's Operations department ensuring excellent customer service and compliance in all activities. This position will require work at various Bookstore and off-site locations through the year. This full-time position reports directly to the Retail Floor Supervisor.
Responsibilities

55% Daily Operations
* Assist in inventory management, including stocking and managing merchandise for vendor returns, and all physical inventory management.
* Oversee student employees within the areas of responsibility.
* Maintain accurate cash handling and customer service procedures.
* Assist with Coffman Bookstore cash room duties as well as retail store opening/closing duties.
* Work at Twin Cities System Stores and special events as needed.

35% Customer Service
* Foster and build positive relationships internally and externally furthering the University's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusivity.
* Serve as a first contact for the Bookstores, troubleshoot problems and customer issues with course materials, books, general merchandise and graduation products.
* Respond to customer, student, staff and department inquiries.

10% Customer Service
* Miscellaneous duties as assigned and assist in all areas as needed.

Essential Functions of the Position

* Manage correspondence
* Maintain customer service procedures
* Ensure excellent customer service and compliance standards are met
* Supervise, train, and coach student and staff employees
* Manage Law School Bookstore
* Maintain professionalism with students, faculty and staff

Work Environment
Work is performed mainly in a retail store setting with frequent work on a computer at a desk. High paced work environment with the ability to respond quickly and effectively.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 4 years.

Preferred Qualifications.
* Experience with retail store operations and systems.
* Knowledge of course material adoption systems.
* Knowledge of general books
* Knowledge of Drupal E-Commerce systems.
* Experience working within a campus environment.
* Experience working with student employees.
* Able to promptly answer support-related email, phone calls, and other electronic communications.
* Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Development
* Experience with course materials adoption systems.
* Strong time management skills.
* Knowledge of higher-ed course materials and inclusive access business
* Experience with retail store operations.
* Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary customer service.
* Experience with e-commerce content management systems, including Drupal.
* Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Administrative
* Ability to take on new projects and learn new skills as technology changes and grows.
* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team environment where design and production are a collaborative effort.
* Ability to effectively communicate.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $22.50-$23.50/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience
