Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Operator

Centron Plant, Cincinnati, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the pulling, packing and shipping of orders, requiring the preparation of shipping documents and proper labeling of hazardous materials Work is performed under minimal supervision following established operating procedures. All work is reviewed for soundness, judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Establish knowledge of standard principles, concepts and techniques, works on a variety of shipping functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS:

• Data entry required to support shipping, receiving and manufacturing functions to include: printing labels, packing slips, entering appropriate information into SAP and Atrion.
• Pull orders for shipping utilizing FIFO method (rotating stock inventory by properly identifying and selecting the older batches first) in an efficient and timely fashion.
• Prepare appropriate documentation and make the necessary carrier arrangements for shipment of goods (Fed-X, and all preferred carriers).
• Keep work area clean and supplies stocked.
• Adhere to all company quality, environmental, departmental and safety policies.
• Ship all materials (Totes, Drums, Raw Materials, and Supplies), generate a packing slip and Bill of Landing, create bar code labels, and put material to stock locations as directed.
• Follows established safety and work procedures/ instructions and follows 5S guidelines to insure that department in meeting all 5S standards.
• Actively participates in both on the job and formal training sessions.
• Demonstrate an ability to correctly operate a fork lift in all applications of the department. Reads open orders and identifies which items are to be pulled for shipping.
• Actively investigate shortages.
• Oversee department supplies and order as required with supervisory signature.
• Must notify your supervisor and/or Inventory controller of any orders that are not filled or complete.
• Process all HazMat paperwork for export shipments as required.
• IATA trained and certified (international air transportation authority)
• IMDG trained and certified (international maritime dangerous goods)
• DOT/HazMat trained and certified (Dept of transportation/Hazardous material transportation).
• Process all non-conforming return materials.

Accountability: Required to wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and participate actively in all plant safety initiatives, programs, and training sessions. Must follow all standard ISO procedures (for facilities where ISO standards are required) with respect to performing the duties of this position and stay up to date on these procedures. Must be accountable for identifying orders that need to be delivered, plan and consolidate appropriate transportation, ensure deliveries are picked and goods issued on time, print and group shipping documents. Must be accountable to the supervisor or plant manager for quality and quantity of work performed.

Team Relationship: It is imperative that this department member be capable of self motivation as well as team participation to complete the tasks set forth for the department. Employee must be able to integrate the ideas and needs of others to solve problems that arise when pulling materials. Employee must support and actively listen to others while also seeking ideas and feedback to enhance both individual and team performance.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate sit down Forklift (stand up and cherry picker a plus).
• Computer proficiency.
• Ability to lift 50+.
• Good attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environment. Shipping experience preferred.
• Strong math, detail, and organizational skills.
