Job Summary

This position will perform a broad range of analytical duties covering FP&A within Corporate Finance. This will include responsibility for the compilation and insightful analysis of forecasts, budgets and strategic plans, evaluation of financial results against expectations, assisting in preparation of board, investor and executive management presentations, and applying appropriate analytics to other special projects. Responsibilities require strong analytic and technical accounting skills.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor business performance of competitors, peers, and other economic metrics for benchmark forecasting purposes
  • Track and analyze actual performance against planned expectations and update projections
  • Assist in the preparation of financial information and analysis to be used in earnings release materials, analyst / investor discussions, capital markets transactions, and other related matters
  • Prepare presentations and underlying support documents for management presentations to board of directors and the executive leadership team
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Compile and review budgets, forecasts, sales updates, and other special reporting for Nordson's operations
  • Serve as a finance partner to corporate functional leaders, assisting with preparation of budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Analyze corporate managed expenses and other corporate-controlled costs
  • Prepare allocations of corporate managed expenses for segment reporting
  • Assist in other financial reporting processes that pertain to the closing cycle, internal and external reporting
  • Other duties as assigned, including providing support to special projects when requested

Education and Experience Requirement

Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Master's degree preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in finance/accounting required
  • Experience in public accounting preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide innovative solutions utilizing strategic thinking
  • Develop analytical reports to meet needs of Director of FP&A, CFO, and other management levels
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively translate data into actionable insights to various stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset and ability to manage deadlines independently while meeting objectives
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP, OneStream, and Power BI is a plus
  • Demonstration of the highest level of integrity and trust
