Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Georgetown University Medical Center Georgetown University: Medical Center: School of Medicine: Psychiatry Location: Washington, DC Open Date: Mar 14, 2025 Deadline: Mar 27, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description This .60 FTE position is funded through grant funding from the Bainum Family Foundation (40%) and through clinical care at MedStar Georgetown (20%). The Bainum Family Foundation grant supports work in two areas: (1) exploring strategies to expand the work of the Early Childhood Innovation from beyond the D.C. area to include partnerships with other localities around the country that are engaged in strengthening systems of care for families with young children; (2) serving as an investigator on proposals and projects focused on implementation and evaluation of emerging best practices in early childhood and family mental health interventions delivered in community settings. The Associate Professor will have experience and expertise in community-engaged research in the areas of childhood development, community health, mental health, health equity, and digital health. The Associate Professor will also contribute to existing programs at the Thrive Center including furthering research and educational activities related to child, adolescent, and family mental health. The Associate Professor will also engage in teaching (4-6 lectures per year) as well as mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and will contribute to other educational activities at the University. The Associate Professor will be responsible for pursuing research opportunities and collaborations to enhance the research portfolio at the Thrive Center. Qualifications Terminal degree (M.D. or Ph.D.) within the biomedical sciences, social sciences, education, or related discipline or field. Candidate must hold a license for independent clinical practice in DC,and be eligible to obtain a license in Maryland and Virginia. Physicians must be ABPN certified or eligible to be certified. Extensive research and evaluation experience, a track record of securing independent funding, and knowledge of the fields of child development, mental health, digital health, health equity, and community-engaged research is required. The projected salary pay range for this position is $140,000-$240,000 which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
