Job Summary

Executes category management responsibilities on Engineered Products. Supports direction of the Construction/Commodity Director on vendor and core market strategy alignment to ensure category growth and alignment to the 95% tier 1 (strategic) or tier 2 (core) vendor objectives. Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback of category needs on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions



  • Responsible for QBR (Quarterly Business Reviews) with engineered product tier 1 (strategic) or tier 2 (core)
  • Responsible for coordination of BSC/Field/Vendor QBR attendees to ensure mutual objectives and goals are met
  • Responsible for monthly review of 95% QBR alignment by zone for quotes to improve tier 1 (strategic) or tier 2 (core) alignment score
  • Partners closely with and builds strong relationships with tier 1 (strategic) or tier 2 (core) vendors to understand and effectively hit mutual growth goals
  • Responsible for Category Review presentations and execution
  • Coordinates internal stakeholders to execute projects within the IBP (Integrated Business Plan) Process
  • Executes projects to support branches vendor improvement throughout the BIP (Branch Improvement Plan) Process
  • Escalates and resolves any internal or external issues related to quality, cost, delivery, etc. with tier 1 (strategic) or tier 2 (core) vendors brought forth in the field


Non-essential Functions



  • Attends training as needed to develop product knowledge.
  • Available to be called upon by any geographical market for technical assistance, and then case-by-case assistance in the field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 4-year business, technical, engineering or marketing degree or the equivalent in work experience, required.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, inventory management, operations, or project management relevant work experience
  • Broad understanding of electrical commodity products
  • Proficiency with MS Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Previous knowledge of SAP or an MRP platform is preferred
