Job Summary:
The Department of Information Systems (IS) in the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University (CSU) is seeking applications for a Visiting Assistant College Lecturer for the 2025-2026 academic year beginning August 18, 2025. This is a non-tenure track position. This is a 9-month academic year contract with the possibility of a supplemental summer contract. This Visiting Assistant College Lecturer position may be renewed for up to an additional two academic terms.

This position will teach information systems courses at the graduate and undergraduate level at on-campus and off-campus locations and online. The typical teaching load is 4 courses per semester. The Visiting Assistant College Lecturer will also be expected to participate in department, college, university, and professional service activities.

The Department of IS offers courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level. The department offers a Master of IS, and majors within the undergraduate and doctoral programs. The department has active researchers who have published in top-tier IS journals.

Information Systems is housed within the Monte Ahuja College of Business. The college employs over 60 full-time faculty members and serves approximately 3,000 students. All programs are AACSB accredited at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in IS or related discipline from an accredited institution and show evidence of teaching effectiveness;
  • Solid knowledge of information systems, e.g., systems analysis & design, databases, networks, security, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in IS or related discipline from an accredited institution (ABDs will be considered as long as applicant graduates by end of July 2025);
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and industrial experience (or research);
  • Teaching interests that align with the department’s objectives and ability to teach courses consistent with the department’s teaching requirements. All areas of information systems teaching and research will be considered;
  • While all areas are welcome, we are particularly interested in candidates in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain, data science (including image processing, speech recognition), and human centered computing (including information visualization, human computer interaction). Strong candidates from other areas will also be considered.
