Sales & Operations Planning Analyst

Huntsman is seeking a Sales & Operations Planning Analyst supporting the PU Division located in Geismar, Louisiana. This position will report to the S&OP Manager.

Job Scope

The Sales & Operations Planning Analyst (SOPA) will play a pivotal role in balancing demand and supply across various product families, ensuring capacity constraints, mix issues, inventory management, and customer orders are effectively addressed. The SOPA will be responsible for short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning horizons, coordinating with internal teams across different regions, and contributing to strategic business growth.

In summary, as the S&OP Analyst you will:

Short-Term Responsibilities (0-3 months):

  • Manually balance supply and demand outside the regular monthly process to provide timely decision-making data to upper management, especially in response to significant supply or demand impacts.
  • Assist in priority setting when supply and inventory are insufficient to meet demand.
  • Contribute to the resolution of short-term shortfalls and ensure the alignment with long-term planning objectives.
  • Collaborate with master planners across departments.
  • Ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generate and present regular reports.

Medium-Term Responsibilities (1 month - 18 months):

  • Facilitate detailed supply, demand, and inventory balancing for all product streams and finished products in a rolling 18-month horizon.
  • Analyze gaps and propose solutions based on monthly balancing of assets and streams.
  • Organize and lead the monthly supply meetings, ensuring all action items and data preparation are addressed.
  • Work closely with production units to resolve any outage plans and gaps.
  • Coordinate with S&OP teams from other regions to ensure global alignment.
  • Continue communication with relevant stakeholders and maintain regular reporting.

Long-Term Responsibilities (1-5 years):

  • Contribute to long-term supply, demand, and inventory balancing strategies and provide insights on potential gaps and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global teams to align supply chain strategies with business growth.
  • Regular reporting and communication with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.
  • Certifications like CPIM, CSCP, or similar are a plus.
  • Experience with data mining and working with data warehouses is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with chemical manufacturing operations is a plus.

Skills and knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Serve as a liaison between business partners, customers, and internal teams, including Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Production, Technical, QA, and Product Development.
  • Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams to improve overall efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in SAP Atlas, Lotus Notes, OMP, Microsoft O365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint), and PowerBI.
  • Basic understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and production capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data to inform decision-making.
