What you'll do

The Workplace Experience function is a strategic capability within the Learning & Organizational Effectiveness team. It is a Center of Excellence for hybrid, distributed work and enables Docusign through the design and operation of offices globally. We work to reduce complexity across functions, deliver new business capabilities and fundamentally improve employee experience. As a Sr. Manager you will drive operational excellence for our offices in North America that allow us to innovate employee experience.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Sr. Director, Workplace Experience.

Responsibility

  • Develop and execute an end-to-end strategy for North America that obsesses operational excellence, customer focus, and employee engagement

  • Lead a distributed team of workplace professionals with an emphasis on creating clarity, accountability and impact while fostering a culture of collaboration, growth and development to drive continuous improvement and innovation

  • Drive the creation of regional standard operating procedures, SLA's, and KPI's to ensure an efficient, consistent, customer centric experience

  • Partner with the Global Workplace Team on programs, initiatives and standardization of operations as required

  • Collaborate with Workplace Design and use data driven insights to optimize space utilization, occupancy plans and growth forecasts

  • Create a culture of experimentation to pilot new workplace or service concepts, learning and collaboration tools and new ways of working

  • Collaborate with Real estate and Workplace Design on future office expansions and build outs to ensure they support experience and operational objectives

  • Champion change management across the region as we roll out new approaches to workplace, services and ways of working

  • Lead with a hospitality mindset to create a consistent set of programs in alignment with L&D, Culture and ERG programs for the region

  • Optimize the event management process to enable the most effective use our facilities while creating a meaningful outcome for participants

  • Build relationships with C suite leaders and executives and stakeholders in North America to understand and align with strategic organizational goals

  • Develop regional actions plans to address opportunities highlighted in bi-annual employee surveys

  • Lead the regional QBR process for all locations in region

  • Partner with FP&A to own the development of the annual workplace budget for North America and manage to target throughout the year

  • Maintain and build relationships with vendors and suppliers for the region that drive value and efficiencies

  • Drive effective cross functional collaboration to ensure Workplace is in alignment and compliant with Safety & Security, Crisis Management & Business Continuity, Sustainability, Real Este, Finance and the broader People Team


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 8+ years of professional experience in workplace operations, facilities management, corporate real estate, or hospitality management
  • Experience in managing complex, cross functional initiatives utilizing program management tools and methods
  • Experience developing programs and concepts from small pilots to larger scale

Preferred

  • 12+ years of experience leading and managing distributed workplace teams across multiple mid to large scale locations
  • Deep understanding of occupancy planning, activity based work implementation and space optimization
  • Practical understanding of design thinking and user centered design methods to leverage data and insights to drive workplace experience innovation
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously drive operational rigor and excellence while creating space to experiment with workplace and collaboration concepts
  • Strong financial acumen, budget planning and skills to drive efficiency
  • A natural ability to influence, communicate, and build alignment across all levels of the organization, including creating compelling visual and written communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings, lead team events / meetings, and communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • PMP, Agile, or equivalent Project Management certifications
  • Regular use of project management and collaboration software and tools
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to move/lift furniture up to 50 lbs

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $134,900.00 - $216,975.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for the following:

  • Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
  • Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
