We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Process Analyst (Contractor) to join our Project Management Office (PMO) team. This role is instrumental in analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business processes, with a strong focus on finance, royalty management, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will help bridge the gap between business operations and technology, ensuring streamlined processes, enhanced accountability, and improved program execution.
This position requires expertise in business process modeling, finance-related workflows, and change management, particularly within complex program environments. Experience with Bibliosuite-a leading publishing workflow and metadata management platform-is a huge plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Business Process Analysis & Documentation
- Analyze, define, and optimize end-to-end business processes, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across teams.
- Develop detailed process maps, workflow diagrams, and operational documentation to standardize business processes and reduce dependency on SMEs.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and royalty teams to formalize financial business logic, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure business process alignment with technology and PMO priorities, driving a structured and business-led approach to execution.
- Requirements Gathering & Solution Development
- Establish a structured approach to eliciting business requirements, ensuring input from a broad range of stakeholders.
- Define and document functional and technical requirements, ensuring clear traceability from business needs to implementation.
- Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve gaps in vendor deliverables, ensuring supplier accountability.
- Partner with technology teams to align system design with business needs, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption.
- Process Optimization & Change Management
- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and optimize financial workflows.
- Implement change management best practices, ensuring business users are engaged and trained effectively.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and business process training to ensure seamless adoption of new workflows.
- Reinforce program governance by driving structured workstreams, ownership clarity, and continuous process enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, finance operations, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of finance, royalty management, accounting workflows, and operational process optimization.
- Experience working within a PMO or structured program delivery environment.
- Proficiency in business process modeling tools (e.g., DrawIO, Visio, Lucidchart) and requirements documentation methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technology teams.
- 5+ years of experience using Atlassian Jira and Confluence for task tracking and project documentation
- Experience with Bibliosuite is a huge plus, particularly in leveraging its capabilities for:
- Metadata management and optimization of content workflows.
- Publishing workflow automation to streamline end-to-end processes.
- Integration with finance and royalty systems for improved financial tracking and reporting.
- Collaboration tools that enhance cross-team visibility and efficiency.
- Experience in the publishing industry or with a major publishing company is a significant plus, as it provides insight into industry-specific financial processes, content lifecycles, and workflow management.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), PMI-PBA (PMI Professional in Business Analysis), IIBA Certification (ECBA, CCBA), or Agile BA Certification.
This role will have an hourly rate of $55-$64/hour. The successful candidate will be employed through Headway Workforce Solutions.
