The Job

This position will work primarily in the Purchasing area reporting to Vice President of Procurement. The position is responsible for various purchasing-related duties including Oracle Purchasing Module management, source selection, vendor negotiation, contract review, RFP assistance, along with departmental budget tracking and analysis.

You Will



  • Assists in implementation and maintenance of effective purchasing and expenditure practices in accordance with best practices. Performs purchasing-related functions and administers Oracle Fusion purchasing system.
  • Administers professional services RFP process including preparing and issuing formal bid packages, conferring with departments to determine purchasing requests, evaluating and negotiating proposals.
  • Maintains working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Responsible for administering the companywide office supply program, including reconciliation of monthly invoices.
  • Provides analytical and project management services on an ad hoc basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate and up-to-date report of open POs, ensuring that the appropriate documentation is obtained to authorize the purchase (Purchasing Metrics).
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications for best practices; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Actively supports the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.


Your Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in business, finance, procurement or other related field, preferred
  • 7 + years procurement experience, including managing complex purchasing initiatives.
  • Proactive/self-starter with problem solving abilities
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of contracts, and contract requirements i.e. terms, warranties, insurance provisions and NDA's.
  • Demonstrated experience in computer-based purchasing and asset management systems implementation and administration.
  • Effective, respectful and courteous communication with internal and external clients.
  • General knowledge of office services and customer interaction.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with MAS500 or other ERP systems.
