What You Need to Know
HRIS Workday Business System Analyst Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with business teams to understand their challenges, workflows, and objectives, ensuring technology solutions align with business goals.
- Document requirements in a structured manner, including process flows, use cases, and user stories, making sure they are clear, actionable, and feasible for development teams.
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, including functional, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), to ensure new systems or updates work correctly and meet business needs.
- Collaborate with business users and developers to identify, document, and resolve defects, ensuring quality standards are met before deployment.
- Support end users through problem analysis, and if necessary, re-creation of the issue to determine the root cause (i.e. system configuration, integrations, data integrity, network, etc.) and provide resolution; determine necessary changes or actions to prevent recurrences.
- Develop, review and update system documentation in the event of changes or new implementations.
- Identify and document areas for improvement in the HR processes and systems, making recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve user experience
- Work with the Learning & Development team as appropriate to provide basic training and support as appropriate to facilitate adoption, minimize disruptions and maximize functionality and usage of the Workday system.

Qualifications
Be the Best HRIS Workday Business System Analyst You Can Be If you meet these qualifications, we want to meet you!
- Bachelor's degree or work experience in related field of study preferred
- Experience in HRIS administration or data management with familiarity in systems like Workday or similar HR/Payroll platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and customers
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at bridging the gap between business users and technical teams
- 3+ years related experience
