Job Summary: Senior Business Bankers have a critical role in providing a knock-out customer experience and ensuring that our customers are our first priority. Sr. Commercial Bankers manage new, larger, and more complex commercial relationships, ensure the completions of annual reviews of large/complex/niche credits, and expand relationships to include Treasury Management services. You will provide leadership and develop the credit culture in unison with senior management. Sr. Business Bankers understand and support the Minnwest Bank strategic plan for future growth and profitability. It is imperative that you perform all job responsibilities according to compliance and audit requirements. May manage and supervise the commercial loan department, including commercial loan officers and loan support staff.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):



  • Primary focus on clients and prospects with annual revenues of $2MM to $20MM with complex deposit, cash management and credit needs. Responsible for reaching out to current and prospect customers to retain existing and develop additional accounts with the bank; know features of all bank loan and deposit products sufficiently to determine which products are best fits for current and prospect customer
  • Service existing loan portfolio according to bank policy. Manage all aspects of borrowing relationship, loan closings and ongoing customer communication.
  • Prepare and document loans in accordance with bank policies and legal and regulatory requirements. Fully understand the credit risks Minnwest finds acceptable and be able to select and structure credit so as to conform to those credit risks
  • Meaningfully present reviews to OLC and ELX discussions, able to address questions in loan committees, explain analysis and support findings
  • Maintain working knowledge of legal and regulatory aspects of commercial lending, including the UCC and bankruptcy laws, as well as core client groups and industry trends and developments


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree (preferred field of Accounting, Finance, or Business)
  • 10+ years commercial lending experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective experience in commercial banking that includes selling, credit underwriting, and leading other staff members
  • Action oriented: the ability to recognize and act on problems with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
  • Ability to gather and analyze customer needs and feedback and propose customer-centric solutions to meet their needs
  • Build strong customer relationships and ability to build customer loyalty
  • Ability to analyze complex balance sheet, income statement ratios, and cash flow statements
  • Sales Prospecting, Planning and Organizational skills


Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Workplace Environment:



  • Requires face-to-face interaction and coordination of work with other employees and departments, and in-person interaction.
  • Working at a computer and utilizing a telephone
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50lbs


Salary Range: $122,000 - $157,000 annually plus bonus and sale incentive opportunities

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. The salary range represents anticipated base pay for this role. The actual pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on factors including but not limited to work location, candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
