group, you will leverage advanced x-ray computed tomography (CT) technologies
to acquire digital image data of geological samples. Your role involves
processing, interpreting, and delivering actionable insights to clients to
address their geological needs. Qualified candidates must excel at interpreting
scientific data, performing mathematical and computational tasks, maintaining
detailed laboratory logs, thriving in a lab environment, and upholding rigorous
quality control and assurance standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate x-ray CT scanning systems to acquire high-quality images of geological samples.
  • Process CT images into quantitative formats suitable for in-depth analysis.
  • Integrate analytical findings with other geological and geochemical parameters to produce detailed, cohesive reports.
  • Interface clearly with supervisors and clients to discuss results or coordinate project setups.
  • Work independently on assigned projects while contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere with fellow technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field

  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical and scientific journals, procedures, or regulations.
  • Skilled at responding to client inquiries or concerns with clarity and professionalism.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as calculating area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs for data analysis.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical operations to tasks such as test reliability, variance analysis, correlation techniques, and sampling theory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience with image analysis software, including Avizo/Pergeos, ImageJ and Photoshop.
  • Strong working knowledge of WellCAD logging software.
  • Capacity to solve practical problems and address variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Skilled at interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Ability to define issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
