Summary of Position We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our On-The-Job Training program as a construction Laborer for projects in the Hamburg, PA region. This role provides hands-on experience in the Highway Civil sector, with a focus on highway and bridge construction. The position involves physically demanding tasks and requires outdoor work in various weather conditions. Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Assist with tasks in the Highway, Bridge, and Heavy Civil sectors, including but not limited to:
- Roadway grading
- Storm drain installation
- Concrete work (roadways, curbs, and sidewalks)
- Concrete structure forming operations
- Traffic control on interstate and secondary roads
- Safely operate manual, gas-powered, and air-powered tools as needed
- Operate non-CDL vehicles as required
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical, drug, and alcohol screening
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle the technical aspects of the job
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for the construction trade
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to follow instructions, work well with others, and maintain a positive attitude
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Basic experience with hand tools, including a utility knife, tape measure, and claw hammer
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments with exposure to heat, cold, and rain
- Commitment to following all company safety policies and working in a safe manner
