Position: Instructional Design and Training Specialist

Location: Indianapolis, IN, this is an onsite role

American Structurepoint's Human Resources Group strives to create an environment where we develop our employees to their highest potential. We are looking for an instructional designer to join our team to develop content for leadership development and technical training programs.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have the following skills:

    Business Acumen: A strong desire to know and understand our business and use that understanding to guide the development of training content is critical to this role's success.
  • Engaging Design: Use your creative skills to develop engaging instructional materials that facilitate learning and help American Structurepoint staff grow their leadership and technical skills.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with business leaders, HR functions and internal and external stakeholders to develop custom content for American Structurepoint's learning programs.
  • Autonomy: Use sound judgement to jump in and build materials, team infrastructure and scalable processes to set the organization up for future success.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HR, business leaders, and subject matter experts to design a wide variety of training, including leadership development and technical training.
  • Identify and prioritize the competencies and skills that need to be developed in staff.
  • Design and curate training materials, content, and modules for instructor-led and virtual instructor-led learning programs that align to competencies and learning objectives.
  • Solicit and analyze participant feedback to continuously improve program content and delivery.
  • Create assessments to measure learner understanding and track progress.
  • Maintain program documents and course documents in central repository.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Leadership Development, develop and execute an annual needs analysis process to identify learning opportunities and drive the creation of a plan to close gaps.
  • Leverage learning management systems to create and deliver content to participants.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, human resources, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design and training in a corporate setting.
  • Knowledge of leadership and organizational development models, best practices, and trends.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in measuring quality and effectiveness of training.
  • Candidates must submit a portfolio with examples of their training programs with their application to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for designing in person and virtual instructor led learning experiences
  • Relevant certifications (i.e. CPTD, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as feedback from focus groups.
  • Experience with facilitation to small groups
  • Familiarity with relevant software and tools, including EaglePoint Pinnacle Series and LinkedIn Learning.
