Summary The Electronic Technician I applies technical knowledge to performmaintenance, installation and repair of aircrew simulators and trainers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Assist in the evaluation, troubleshooting, calibration, adjustment, testing, maintenance, orinstallation of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, computer, and visual displaycomponents. * Apply technical knowledge to solve problems that typically can be solved by referencingmanufacturers' manuals or similar documents. * Understand and work from schematics, engineering drawings, written and/or verbal instructions. * Troubleshoot and repair analog and digital electronics to the system, subsystem and component level. * Select, set up and operate test equipment. * Observe, analyze, record, and report test data and whenappropriate, make necessary repairs. * Maintain appropriate calibration and inspection records. * Perform repetitive or standard production assembly operations on electronic or mechanicalassemblies and subassemblies such as CCAs, terminal boards, panels, consoles, drawers, framesand cables. * Perform standard Morning Readiness tasks on all training devices. * Perform routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks and inspections on all training devices. * Assure training devices are maintained according to published procedures and standards. * Assist in maintaining training device reliability. * Maintain training device sub-systems. * Generate work orders and address discrepancies observed during working hours. * Clean training devices, computer rooms, and surrounding areas, as required. * Perform basic operation, complete pre and post flight inspections, and preventative and corrective maintenance on highly complex Flight Simulators. * Evaluate and troubleshoot user problems and system malfunctions on complex networked computer systems,visual & display systems, laser & weapon simulations, video & audio systems, high voltage systems, and interface & peripheral systems. * Troubleshoot and repair to component level is desirable. * Accurately enter and maintain documentation of repairs, inventory, and other associated trainer documentation. *Use electronic test equipment including Digital multi-meters, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Light meters, Logicanalyzers, sine wave generators, special test equipment, and complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computercontrol equipment. Qualifications and Education Requirements * AA/AS Degree in an electronics technology or; * Received military electronics formal technical training or; * Obtained equivalent and relevant training/experience * Must be a US citizen and fluent in English. * Must possess a U.S. Secret Clearance that is in scope. * Must be able to obtain Special (Program) Access Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Security Responsibilities Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources. * Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Must be physically able to climb stairs, ladders, work in confinedand/or dark spaces, work with hand tools, and lift and move up to 40 lbs. unassisted. * Must be able to work all shifts and up to twenty weekends per year. *Must maintain a satisfactory and progressive performance throughout a developmental training period andcontinued skill development. * Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the device. * Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment. * Must be able to distinguish colors. * Will be working in areas w/ risk of electrical shock from electronically moving mechanical parts. * Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noises.
