OUR TEAM: The Fermentation Team at Promega is responsible for cultivating microbial systems that drive the production of essential biomolecules for our life science products. YOUR ROLE: As a key member of our Fermentation Team, you will be responsible for executing fermentation production runs to support Promega's diverse product portfolio. Your primary focus will be on operating and monitoring bioreactors, preparing media, inoculating cultures, and maintaining strict process controls to ensure consistent, high-quality yields. You will perform in-process sampling and analytical assays to verify fermentation performance and product quality. Additionally, you will assist with troubleshooting production challenges and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth handoffs between fermentation and downstream processing. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in microbial fermentation while contributing to the reliable supply of critical biomolecules.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Manufactures a variety of products to meet product specifications. Follows production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of finished product. Understands basic laboratory concepts and performs basic laboratory techniques.

2. Performs assays to ensure that products meet existing quality control requirements. May require supervision to determine +/- passing results.

3. Follows the quality requirements that relate to work area. Demonstrates good documentation practices and consistently produces quality products and documentation. Follows existing policies for data recording and record keeping.

4. Participates in and follows project plans and experimental design with assistance. Provides data or information to others in work area and assists in implementation activities for own products.

5. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

6. Embraces and is open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.

7. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A.D. or B.S. degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology). May have 0-3 years of related experience.

2. Familiar with basic principles of documentation using either laboratory notebook or batch record.

3. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prior industry experience.

2. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or cGMP Quality System requirements (e.g. complaint investigation, nonconformance, change control).

3. Experience with use of computers for collection and analysis of experimental data.

4. Is a self-starter, creative, and capable of initiating and implementing methods to accomplish the requirements of this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to work at a laboratory bench for extended periods of time.

2. Ability to work with hazardous materials (e.g. chemicals, radioactivity, electrical equipment) so as not to endanger oneself or others.

3. Ability to use standard laboratory protective equipment.
