The Loan Management team is a business unit within the Global Markets Division (GMD), primarily supporting the Mortgage Loan Trading and Structured Finance desks. The team is a multi-faceted diligence and asset management platform specializing in whole loan acquisition, sales, securitizations, and financing opportunities. The Loan Management team has product expertise across mortgages, consumer loans, real estate and warehouse financing.

The Whole Loan Execution Group (WLEG) includes the Document Collateral, Repurchase and Deal Management teams which manages post-settle trade management. WLEG is seeking a Collateral Management Analyst/Associate to support the Mortgage Loan Trading Desks and Loan Management in mitigating post settle risk by coordinating document collateral exception curative efforts to ensure proper servicing and the salability of the loans acquired. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a significant pipeline of settled deals to ensure proper vendor oversight and client relations with a goal of clearing all outstanding document deficiencies within the contractual timelines.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include:



  • Coordinate and perform due diligence on collateral for sales and securitization transactions and collaborate with clients, trade desk and internal teams to tie out to final trailing document obligations
  • Manage post-close trailing document and exception clearing process for acquisitions, sales and securitizations by coordinating with sellers, purchasers, collateral vendors, custodians and servicers
  • Perform critical document reviews including notes, title policies, modifications/CEMAs, security instruments, bailee letters, lost note affidavits, endorsement chains etc. for accuracy and compliance with loan and trade level requirements
  • Effectively maintain accurate database information, reporting of loan level conditions, exceptions and data reconciliation to maintain data integrity
  • Communicate trade updates to management, trade desk and relevant stakeholder's teams regarding action plans based on priority, loan status, timelines and milestones, etc.
  • Manage vendor oversight and performance to maintain adherence to process and contractual timelines
  • Identify and work with vendor and internal partners to implement process improvement action plans
  • Analyze custodian, vendor and client collateral exception reports to ensure accurate tracking of open and cleared exceptions, identify trends, aging and deficiencies, and facilitate escalation as necessary
  • Ensure cure efforts meet agreed upon timelines and collaborate with repurchase team where applicable.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum 1-3 years of US mortgage document management and/or document custodial experience
  • Document review, audit and curative experience and expertise including Chains of Assignment of Mortgage, Note Endorsements/Allonges, Lost Note Affidavits and Attorney Bailee Letters
  • Strong self-confidence, good judgment, and sound decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Relationship development and management experience; vendor oversight experience is preferred
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret legal contracts and compliance related materials a plus
  • Capable of recommending modifications to existing policies/procedures to control risk and improve performance/efficiencies
  • Ability to handle a high-stress, fast-paced environment and aggressive deadlines with minimum supervision; successfully meet established project requirements and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task
  • Possess strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Advanced proficiencies in MS Excel
  • Flexibility to work extended hours if needed
