Senior Engineer, Electrical Planning and Design

National Grid is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Network Control Modernization team. As part of our team, you'll help manage the electric distribution system, ensuring power is delivered safely and efficiently to over 2 million customers in Massachusetts. Your work will support outage management, grid automation, and integration of new energy technologies like solar and battery storage.

* Become a go-to expert in our Distribution SCADA - a key tool for keeping the grid running smoothly.

* Lead projects to enhance grid operations, integrating new data sources like smart meters and mobile workforce tools.

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar field) from an ABET-accredited program

* At least 5 years of experience in the electric power industry or working with electric operations

* Familiarity with power systems engineering (substations, distribution planning, load flow analysis)

* Strong communication and teamwork skills-you'll work with different teams across the company

Nice-to-Haves (but not required!):

* Experience with ADMS, SCADA, or Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) like solar and batteries. (Hitachi experience is a plus)

* Passion for clean energy, sustainability, and new technology

* Agil Project Management familiarity (Jira application)

* Familiarity with GIS, process updates and records/database maintenance
