Role and Responsibilities:


We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lead Stocker to join our team! In this role, you will lead and support the team to ensure the section is well-organized, products are stored properly, and safety standards are upheld, all while providing exceptional service to our customers.



  • Lead and support a team to ensure that items are properly stocked, organized, and maintained.

  • Oversee the accurate placement of products, ensuring they are stored according to safety standards and temperature requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels, perform stock rotation (FIFO), and report any discrepancies or shortages to management.

  • Ensure the team adheres to food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

  • Train and mentor team members on stocking procedures, inventory management, and safety practices.

  • Assist with unloading shipments, checking for product damage, and ensuring that deliveries are stored in the correct temperature zones.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock replenishment to avoid out-of-stock situations.

  • Communicate any issues or concerns related to inventory, equipment, or safety protocols to supervisors promptly.

  • Ensure that safety equipment and personal protective gear (PPE) are used as required by safety standards.


Qualifications:



  • Previous experience working as a Stocker in a grocery store or similar setting.

  • Familiarity with stock rotation practices (FIFO - First In, First Out).

  • Knowledge of food safety standards, particularly for frozen and chilled items.

  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience working in a commissary.

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to mentor and guide a team.

  • Strong attention to detail in product handling, storage, and stock rotation.

  • Ability to use basic warehouse equipment like pallet jacks and forklifts (certification a plus).


Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting while stocking frozen and chilled products.

  • Ability to work on your feet for long periods.

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks in a cold environment (temperature-controlled areas).

  • Reasonable accommodations can be provided.


Environmental Demands:



  • Work in a cold environment, including freezers and refrigerators.

  • Exposure to cold temperatures.

  • Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent movement and time-sensitive tasks.
