  • Stay updated on competitor products and market trends to effectively position Spacesaver's offerings. Collect and document competitive intelligence.
  • Develop proof-of-concept demonstrations, prototypes, or trials to showcase product capabilities and address customer concerns. Maintain ownership and development of concepts through all phases, ensuring approval from customers at quoted costs.
  • Track all iterations of custom solutions and engineered-to-order products from concept through turnover to Project Manager and Engineering Design Team, ensuring solutions meet project requirements. Monitor progress through manufacturing and installation.
  • Maintain a sound understanding of project specifications and bid documents. Review and maintain understanding of all current RFI questions and responses to aid in accurate design development and quoting of product solutions.
  • Serve as a Spacesaver product expert by thoroughly understanding features and benefits of our products and competitor products, knowing applications for our products relative to each market, and training others on both product and application.
  • Support the field sales force with strategies to win key projects, including in-field sales calls, product training, and customer presentations.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology to manage project opportunities and details, responsible for management and forecasting within focus areas.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; degree in business-related field or equivalent experience in technical sales role acceptable.
  • Proficiency in CAD and BIM/Revit required; SolidWorks, CREO, or other modeling experience a plus.
  • Strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to build relationships and meet or exceed service and product expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical products to non-technical audiences and deliver effective presentations.
  • Proven capability of managing through complex and longer selling cycles, results-driven with the ability to guide complicated sales engagements through the sales funnel.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with professionalism and integrity.
  • Successful experience in the manufacturer-distributor dynamic.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in working with architectural floor plans/drawings, technical specifications, contract interpretation, mechanical concepts, and basic understanding of construction methods.
