As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and dedicated engineers that pride themselves in analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.

This position is located at Patrick Space Force Base.

This position is eligible for a (hybrid) telecommuting schedule.

Tasks for this position must be performed largely on-site, but later assignments may be performed remotely.

Essential Functions

  • Leads in the design, development, testing, troubleshooting and analysis of software programs and firmware for new and existing systems
  • Leads in the design, development, testing, troubleshooting and analysis of software programs and software solutions
  • Develops documentation of new or existing programs
  • Leads software engineering project teams
  • Assists in customizing purchased applications and assists in maintaining program libraries and manuals based on research and customer needs
  • Conducts and supports complex Level 1, 2, and 3 testing to qualify systems for Range operations
  • Supports the efforts of all technical support personnel for assigned projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in software engineering and operating systems programming
  • Demonstrated proficiency with C, Fortran, and Java languages
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux (Red Hat and GNU) based computer systems and components
  • Experience working with software design principles and computer hardware

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Security+ certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire
  • Occasional travel may be requested - up to 10%
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required
