Stanley Consultants is currently looking for an Energy Capture Manager.

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Capture Manager (Capture Manager) is part of the Inside Sales Business Development (IS-BD) Team and is responsible for supporting the goals of the Energy Market by providing critical support to the Client Service Manager (CSM) or other outside sales resource on key strategic pursuits. The Capture Manager takes a leadership role in guiding pursuit teams through the positioning, proposal management and interview stages. The Capture Manager will work with the IS-BD Energy Department Manager and the CSM to develop capture plans for identified key pursuits. This capture strategist will also identify actions and manage timely execution as well as support development of the value proposition, technical solution, positioning and win themes. The Capture Manager will work closely with the Inside Sales Manager (ISM)-BD Proposal Specialist to develop winning proposals. The candidate must bring experience and understanding of the A/E/C industry to the role. This individual must have strong leadership, time management, organizational, facilitation, collaboration and communication (verbal and writing) skills.

What You Will Be Doing:



  • Develop and execute capture plans for targeted bid opportunities.
  • Use capture and proposal management templates to develop and document intelligence gathered from market research and CSMs to develop solutions that align with Stanley's offerings and the customers' needs.
  • Schedule and facilitate workshops to develop differentiators, value propositions, win themes, compelling text and graphic concepts, including challenging the team to think innovatively regarding these items.
  • Manage strategic proposal efforts to make sure a consistent and coordinated approach is in alignment with client's standards.
  • Collaborate with CSMs on teaming plans.
  • Facilitate visual roadmap (storyboard) in partnership with graphic design, CSM and ISM team members based on strategic level. Coordinate with ISM-BD Proposal Specialist and team during proposal response to communicate solutions/themes for the solicitation.
  • Attend client solicitation meeting(s) and debrief(s) with CSM, as needed. Communicate with the pursuit team what was learned and implementable on future proposal response.
  • Co-lead critical reviews, manage and solve problems throughout the capture and bidding process in collaboration with CSM (final decision maker) and ISM-BD Proposal Specialist.
  • Maintain regular communication with IS-BD Energy Department Manager to review active capture plans and review action items and progress of each pursuit.
  • Communicate with CSMs to make sure action items developed in the capture planning/strategy development process are implemented in the proposal phase.
  • Engage in the proposal response and interview process to make sure all client critical success factors and proposal themes are addressed, and messaging is aligned with the knowledge collected throughout the positioning and proposal phases.
  • Develop Win Strategy for new and follow-on contract bids and make sure it is included in the proposal in a clear and compelling manner.
  • With guidance from IS-BD Energy Proposal Department Manager, collaborate with ISM-BD Proposal Specialists regarding best practices within the proposal development lifecycle.
  • Plan and lead regular communication with the pursuit team during pre-RFx phase.
  • Plan and lead communication with the pursuit team during interview coaching phase, as needed.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with corporate departments as needed for capture plan development and execution, as well as proposal development and submission.
  • Travel to other office locations if needed to support proposal and interview process.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or relevant field.
  • 15+ years of experience in proposal development/management within the A/E/C industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the A/E/C industry - specifically energy.
  • Exceptional experience with capture planning and proposal development.
  • Experience with persuasive writing, editing, presentation and interview coaching.
  • Proven ability to organize, collaborate and lead a group of individuals.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Ability to develop capture plans for multiple pursuits/opportunities at once.
  • Ability to work well with all types and levels of professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong business focus, industry insight, critical thinking.
  • Outstanding organizational and logistical skills, ability to work under pressure and ability to work overtime.
  • Travel less than 15 percent, if needed.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, InDesign and SharePoint.



Base Compensation
: $105,000-$120,000

Stanley Consultants is committed to maintaining transparency in our hiring process, including providing information about compensation. The starting salary for the successful candidate in this position is competitive and will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, geographic location, internal equity, company policy and practices.

Stanley's Approach to Flexibility

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
