Job Title:AVP, Loan Documentation Job Description:

Summary:

Responsible for day to day management of Commercial Loan Documentation staff, including workflow between commercial loan documentation and the Units. Regular interaction with Units and training within and outside loan documentation, including travel to other Units and Regions. Responsible for analyzing commercial documentation packages for all loan types of commercial loans. Reviews the integrity of documents used in closing the loan, and ensures the documentation process results in legally binding documents which are in compliance with Federal regulation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance of the commercial team members and manage the workflow of the unit to ensure that service level agreements are being maintained.

  • Review loan documents prepared in the loan documentation system or by outside counsel for all loan products to ensure that documents meet the stated terms of the Approval.

  • Ensure all transactions comply with regulations and industry standards and provide training to staff as needed.

  • Conduct a monthly quality control review in accordance with Bank policies and for quality and reliability to ensure all internal and external requirements are met consistently.

  • Provide technical expertise and interact closely with the Loan Operations, Loan Coordinators and Compliance/Legal teams to maintain an efficient process.

  • Communicate all regulatory and procedure initiations or changes to the commercial loan documentation team and loan coordinators.

  • Responsible for complex commercial loan documentation that requires advanced knowledge.

  • Prepare new and renewal loan documents through the loan documentation system as needed.

  • Provide training when needed.

  • Assist with special projects and system enhancements updates.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Well versed with title work, flood requirements, entity documents and other internal documentation requirements in compliance with Federal Regulations.

  • Possesses the ability to resolve documentation issues.

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Loan collateral requirements

  • Solid understanding of bank's special provisions and language substitutions in the loan documentation system and other agreements

  • Ability to clearly communicate with co-workers, title companies, attorneys and other vendors as required

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal in a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists and ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Possesses a high level of flexibility, versatility, commitment, good judgment and ability to be well organized.

  • Skillful at establishing priorities and channeling effort productively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Loan Documentation team

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Six to Eight years loan documentation experience, specializing in Commercial Loans.

  • Three to Five years management experience

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Loan collateral requirements

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Bankway

  • SalesForce

  • Laser Pro
