CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within NASA, NOAA, USGS and the NNSA, while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.

Part of CSG, the Operational Programs Directorate (OPD) provides program management and systems engineering support to numerous programs at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). This support spans all mission phases, from concept through design, development, deployment, and operations, all program sizes, from small exploratory projects through the large "flagship" programs that GSFC manages for other agencies, and both flight and ground systems.

OPD is looking for a Project Coordinator (Project Management Staff V - Business Administration - General Program Office) to form the core of a Program Management Office (PMO) in OPD. The selected candidate will provide centralized project management expertise, support, and control to the OPD portfolio.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based at either the Goddard Space Flight Center or our Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MD, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3-4 regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, implement, and manage a Program Management Office function within OPD
  • Support OPD leaders in organizing and coordinating multiple action teams to solve our customer's hardest problems, including developing project schedules and identifying resource needs
  • Establish, document, and coach tailored project management policies to enable standardized "best practice" levels of support to our customers
  • Provide technical editing of customer deliverables
  • Track major team activities to successful conclusion with results that benefit the missions we support
  • Leverage problem solving skills to identify and resolve obstacles to timely project completion
  • Gather and report with clarity consolidated project status and financial information to customer and corporate leadership

What You Need to be Successful: Engineering Integration - Enterprise Systems Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 15 or more years of progressively responsible program management office experience with credible success in one or more of the following areas:
    • Integrated Management Scheduling
    • Financial tracking and reporting
    • Stakeholder coordination, engagement, and event planning
    • Capturing lessons learned and best practices
    • Policy Development
    • Organizational Structure
    • Results-oriented, plan language progress reporting
  • Direct experience with the government agencies OPD supports: NOAA, NASA, and/or USGS
  • Proven success working with all organizational levels
  • Excellent teaming skills with an ability to multi-task across various issues/customers simultaneously
  • Proven ability to organize/manage multiple priorities coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business needs
  • Excellent written communication skills - organize complex materials and concepts in clear and logical manner using plain language and compelling graphics
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, positive, persuasive; builds consensus through listening and speaking
  • Thrives on helping the teams solve complex problems with simple, innovative solutions
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically approx. 10%
  • Willing to work on-site at NASA GSFC or the Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MD 3-4 days per week
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$120,300 - $180,400 Pay Basis: Annual
