Job Title: Senior Program ManagerReporting To: Manager Staff, ProgramWork Schedule: Hybrid - Phoenix, AZMOOG Space and Defense Senior Program Manager Moog Space and Defenseproduces spaceflight hardware and software solutions, integrating vehicle design, component design and engineering services for aerospace, scientific, commercial and military customers on four continents. From proposal phase to ground testing, launch and on-orbit operations, we support each mission as scientific, technical and operational facilitators. On the product side, our radiation-hardened avionics and electronics include GPS/GNSS receivers, science payloads, motor controllers, high-quality flight-critical components, and single board computers powered by the next-generation BRE440 "system-on-a-chip" - the world's highest-performance radiation-hardened microprocessor. With global product demand and mission criteria moving toward integrated commercial partnerships, lower costs and higher performance hardware and software requirements, Moog Broad Reach is positioned for growth in the new era of aerospace development. Under the direction of the Manager of Program Management, the Senior Program Manager coordinates and manages all activities and is responsible for meeting all contractual obligations on assigned programs. The Senior Program Manager serves as the primary communication link between the customer and Moog. The Senior Program Manager advises management and the customer of status and potential problem areas on a regular basis and takes appropriate corrective actions as required. The Senior Program Manager typically has responsibility for several programs of major impact to the division. These may be new and/or ongoing programs. As a general rule, the total value of these programs will typically be valued at between $5M $30M, however, because of technical complexity or customer approach, the dollar value may not fully represent the difficulty of the work involved. The Senior Program Manager does not have direct reports but will be required to coordinate the activities of a program staff on an as needed basis. On occasion, the Senior Program Manager may train Program Managers and Associate Program Managers. Here's what you'll be working on: The Senior Program Manager is responsible for managing aspects of a program from contract award through end item delivery. This includes support to sales and proposal efforts through fact finding and negotiations. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for meeting all program contractual requirements. The Senior Program Manager acts as a single point of contact for the customer and therefore must be conversant on all aspects of the program. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for accomplishing the program objectives by managing the activities of a multi-disciplined team. This includes interfacing with the appropriate functional managers and supervisors to ensure the assignment of adequate resources. The Senior Program Manager is required to have the skills necessary to successfully plan, schedule and budget new and ongoing programs. This includes the identification of critical milestones and the insertion of adequate slack in the program schedules to accommodate unplanned events. The Senior Program Manager will prepare the appropriate materials and report to management on the status of assigned programs at monthly program management reviews. Problems of an urgent nature shall be identified and reported to the Manager of Program Management as soon as possible. The Senior Program Manager must be proactive in identifying issues and problems, which impact program performance, and in taking appropriate actions to resolve these issues and recover cost and schedule, in a timely manner. Program risks, including cost, technical and schedule risks, must be identified as early as possible and mitigation plans developed to minimize potential program impacts. To the extent that these actions or plans may incur additional cost or affect contractual obligations, the Senior Program Manager is to coordinate with the Manager of Program Management. The Senior Program Manager recognizes that customer satisfaction and On Time Delivery (OTD) are the highest priority. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for coordinating customer visits and reviews. This includes the preparation of agenda, assignment of presentation materials preparation, and physical preparations such as a meeting location, food, transportation, etc. The Senior Program Manager must maintain the highest level of personal integrity and insist on similar behavior from the program team. To successfully perform the program management function, The Senior Program Manager must have and exercise the following skills and knowledge:
The function of the Senior Program Manager is similar to that of the Program Manager. The difference lies in the level of skill, knowledge and experience of the individual and the significance of the assigned responsibilities. Specifically, the Senior Program Manger normally carries a heavier program load along with proposal responsibilities on an as needed basis. In addition, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for intercompany projects. The required education and background for a person in this position would preferably be a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a minimum of 10 years of related work experience in government contracting working on development projects. Basic Qualifications:Self-motivator with a passion for challenges. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications. Bachelor's degree in Technical or Business Management and 5 to 10 years of program management experienceor equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Preferred Qualifications:Strongly prefer program management experience in the manufacturing of product for the aerospace or defense industries. Experience working with DoD customers; knowledge of DoD contractual terms, conditions, and requirements. Experience with electronic systems. Experience managing multiple programs. Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project. Negotiation skills to facility agreement on technical and contractual matters. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others. Salary Range Transparency: Phoenix, AZ $100,000.00-$150,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
