TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor, 2nd Shift

DEPARTMENT: Shipping and Receiving

STATUS: Full-Time, Regular, Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising and managing all warehouse departmental functions. Oversees staff and dispatches the movement of materials to all manufacturing assembly areas in support of daily build schedules. Provides accurate, clean, safe, and organized material storage to ensure all warehouse operations operate in a highly efficient manner.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees warehouse operational processes and methods to attain a minimum of 95% inventory accuracy.
  • Meets and supports established Purchasing OTCS metric goal.
  • Monitors and evaluates performance of team members.
  • Provides appropriate equipment to ensure safe transport and storage of all materials.
  • Develops, audits, and enforces standard work/work instructions.
  • Utilizes cross-training matrix to develop and execute training plans to achieve a fully cross-trained team.
  • Coordinates plant wide cycle counts and publishes results.
  • Supports new software and hardware technologies to improve efficiencies and attain cost savings.
  • Dispatches daily picks to team in support of production schedules per manufacturing cycle chart.
  • Responds to Customer Concerns assigned thru Workflow portal in a timely manner.
  • Communicates part shortages via a formal shortage list to operations, as well, communicates throughout the day as appropriate.
  • Oversees the movement of material from warehouses and stages material for assembly/subassembly to support on-time daily schedule completion.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Performs weekly internal audits of areas as assigned by Manager.
  • Leads a major process improvement team to improve productivity or quality.
  • Manages the assigned area for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency.
  • Meets departmental and corporate goals through continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of current markets for material handling equipment to ensure optimal procurement in terms of performance, safety, reliability, and cost.
  • Perform the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor responsibilities for limited back-up coverage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate Degree in Manufacturing or Business is preferred.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Desire to build teamwork internally and externally.
  • Financial management.
  • Technical capacity.
  • Strong leadership skills to influence team members.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of logistics and warehouse processes.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office and manufacturing environment (as needed) that may include heat, humidity, dust, and noise.
  • Extended work hours periodically required.
  • Work requires frequent or occasional computer use, keyboarding, and in some cases occasional lifting, pulling, or carrying up to 25 pounds.
  • Work frequently requires attention to details. Frequent pressure and stress related to meeting shipments and scheduling changes. Work is frequently affected by distracting influences such as people, telephone calls, etc.
