GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT- NATIONAL HEALTHCARE

The General Superintendent is responsible for oversight of all Senior Superintendents, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents within the National Healthcare team, and supporting operating unit General Superintendents throughout the company on Healthcare project pursuits and execution. The General Superintendent works diligently to ensure all Superintendents are meeting all goals set for the specific project and that they manage all field operational duties using established standard work and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

* High school diploma required
* 15-20 years of construction-related experience
* 10 years Healthcare experience including the delivery of complex healthcare projects with emphasis on acute care hospitals
* 5-8 years Senior Superintendent or General Superintendent
* Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative and forward thinking
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
* Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Procore (or equivalent) and Bluebeam (or equivalent software)
* Oversee multiple Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents
* Assist with Human Development by mentoring Superintendents and Assistants through various training programs both internally and externally.
* Demonstrated experience initiating and driving continuous improvement
* Current OSHA 30 certification

Preferred:

* Two or four-year degree in construction related field
* 20-25 years of field-related experience
* AHA Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) certification
* ASHE Training/Physical Environment Certification
* Current CPR/First Aid Training
* LEED AP or other green building certifications

Office and Travel:

* Office: Based in Dallas TX or Raleigh NC
* Travel: Ability to travel is a requirement of this position. Travel will include trips to our operating units to support their General Superintendents on Healthcare Projects, and travel to support Healthcare projects located outside of the geographic area(s) of our operating units.
* Travel amount will depend on the location of the projects relative to the home office location. Travel is anticipated to be in the 25-75% range.

RESPONCIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Pre-Construction

* Participate in Pre-Construction related tasks including
* Pursuits, Proposals and interviews
* Site Logistics/Schedule/Safety
* Constructability reviews as part of Page Turn process
* Subcontractor Selection
* Ensure alignment of budget set for the project including labor, materials and equipment. Work with Project Management team to address issues as they arise.
* Pre-Job Walk Throughs
* Understanding Federal State and Local AHJ requirements for Healthcare Facilities
* Supporting field leadership in Operating Units through all phases of Preconstruction on Healthcare pursuits and projects
* Hiring and building teams to execute Healthcare projects located outside of the geographic coverage area of our operating units (i.e. National Projects)

Construction

* Manage and oversee all McGough National Healthcare field staff, subcontractors and suppliers engaged in assigned projects. Oversee and review Superintendent's weekly work plans, schedule updates. Logistics, etc.
* Hire Superintendents and build field execution teams for National Healthcare projects, and support Regional Offices in the hiring of Healthcare Superintendents within their operating units
* Coach Superintendents on the ability to develop, manage and implement the project schedule as designed and adjust as necessary. Work closely with Project Management team to ensure schedule remains updated.
* Monitor the quality of work being performed to ensure it meets company, industry and Healthcare Construction standards.
* Address any problems or conflicts that arise on-site, from scheduling delays to trade/labor disputes, and work to resolve them efficiently to minimize project disruptions.
* Monitor and track project expenses to ensure the project stays within budget.
* Work with Quality Control team to ensure project-specific requirements are met. Oversite of project superintendent(s) management of site-specific Quality Control plan with QC department and Project Management.
* Ensure all on-site documentation including drawings, logs, inspection books and as-built drawings are updated and current.
* Participate in monthly Project Assessment Meetings for Healthcare Projects. Work with Project Management team to assess weekly/monthly cost projections and expenditures.
* Provide intentional support and leadership for project team in the areas of Lean methodologies being employed onsite, ensuring all established processes, tools, and standard work are being followed.
* Promote a safe environment by developing Superintendents to lead activities including job safety meetings and orientations. Ensure all OSHA and other required rules and regulations are met.
* Build and maintain strong relationship with clients, design team and subcontractors.
* Work with field team members to ensure they have the proper Healthcare specific training(s) and certifications necessary for the specific types of projects they are executing
* Participate and support implementation of a collaborative, continuous improvement culture.
